Natyacharya Smt. Gayatri Subramanian

Smt. Gayatri Subramanian, disciple of Guru GV Ramani and Smt. Ranganayaki Ramani and creative director of Guru GV Ramani Natya Kala Foundation, is an acclaimed arts educator, curator and organizer based in Navi Mumbai.
In her prolific career spanning 30 years, she has made a considerable and long-lasting impact on the culture scene in the Mumbai city. Her vision to create platforms for the Indian arts has brought acclaimed artists across various streams of Indian classical and allied arts for performances in Navi Mumbai through her 2 art festivals - Utsav festival for young dancers and the flagship Margazhi festival.
Smt. Gayatri identifies herself as a "Natyacharya" or a dance teacher first, before anything else. She has imparted rigourous training in Bharatanatyam over 200 students in Navi Mumbai. Her students are now themselves accomplished performers, professionals, teachers and art curators in different parts of the world, but each of them hold closely the knowledge value systems taught by Smt. Gayatri.
A choreographer par excellence, Smt. Gayatri has to her credit, various dance productions, both solo and group such as Ramayana, Andal Kalyanam, Kutrala Kuravanji, Ahalya, Sita, Draupadi, Tuka (solo) and Hidimbi (solo), among few. Her students have been awarded the Doordarshan grade, CCRT scholarships and have been invited to perform across the country in various festivals.
